Heber Road,

Southwark

54½ Heber Road, Dulwich is a proposal for a new-build house on a narrow strip of land between two houses, formerly used for storing scaffolding. The proposals look to adopt some of the language of the surrounding Victorian terraced housing but reinterpret it through bold contemporary detailing. At the rear of the property, the formal architectural language of the street frontage gives way to a softer and more domestic expression, nestled within a bountiful landscape. The interiors have been carefully considered to ensure that the limited space is used to full effect, with considered joinery interventions coupled with generous window openings.

The proposals employ best-practice sustainability measures, including a fabric-first approach to construction, significant biodiversity improvements, and the inclusion of an air source heat pump.
